The Stunning Beauty of the Shark

Photographer and Naval Engineer Klaus Jost, has dived with sharks for years. Today, Jost travels three to five times a year to photograph sharks worldwide.

Since 2001, Jost began to engage in nature photography and underwater. Its purpose is to document shark species threatened with extinction, and draw attention to the hunting of animals.

A Bull Shark, which he called 'Grandpa', due to its docile and relaxed nature.
To Klaus the fearsome animals are like co-workers.
Klaus says he himself never had problems with the sharks.
'Very few of the 460 types of sharks discovered so far represent a threat for human beings' says Klaus.
Jost's interest in sharks began when he participated in the construction of ports.

Jost describes this picture as 'the point of view of a seal'.
The bull shark can also live in fresh water.
